Saltwater Series XL®:
For use exclusively with the new V8 5.3L four stroke Yamaha outboards. Designed to harness the awesome power of these outboards and turn it into massive amounts of thrust, Saltwater Series XL propellers have more diameter and 21% more blade area that even our largest Saltwater Series II™ propellers. This helps the F350 generate up to 45% more thrust than 250hp-class outboards, and provides large offshore boats with plenty of power to plane, acceleration, and top-end speed. Also available with the SDS Shift Dampening System. (NOTE: deduct two inches of pitch for same or similar performance when converting non-SDS XL propellers to SDS-equipped Saltwater Series XL propellers)
Shift Dampener System (SDS™):
Yamaha’s patent-pending Shift Dampener System uses a unique, splined rubber hub and special aft washer (cam) to distribute and absorb the forces, and the resulting sounds and vibrations, that are normally associated with shifting an outboard into gear. The result: far quieter and smoother, ‘clunk free’ shifting. “Amazing” is the word most-often used to describe the result. Currently available on all models of Saltwater Series XL 3-bladed and XL4/XL4-HP 4-bladed propellers for Yamaha 5.3L F350, all Saltwater Series II 3-bladed props and Saltwater Series HS4 4-bladed propellers for Yamaha V6’s, and all Reliance Series 3-bladed props.
Performance XL4™ Series:
Large offshore boats, such as express cruisers and walk-around models, require massive thrust to plane and additional propeller ‘grip’ for maximum operational efficiency. Helping to harness the incredible power of Yamaha’s 5.3L V8 outboards, these new four-bladed propellers offer outstanding acceleration, quick planing, and improved “grip” to help maintain plane at lower speeds and help eliminate ventilation, particularly in turns and following seas. They’re manufactured from the highest-quality stainless steel, for maximum quality and durability. Polished to a lustrous shine, they will be available in 15” and 17”pitches and in both right and left-hand rotation. Please note these particular propellers will only fit Yamaha’s line of V8 outboards, using a pressed-in style rubber hub only.
Performance XL4™ - HP Series:
Lighter, high-performance offshore boats, such as open fishing-style hulls, can also benefit from the XL4’s excellent acceleration, quick planing, and maximum grip of the water. For these craft, Yamaha introduces the new Performance XL4 – HP series of propellers. Offering many of the same performance characteristics of their XL4 brethren, their advanced blade geometry is specifically designed for Yamaha V8 applications where higher speeds are enabled by a specific boat’s hull design. Featuring a highly-polished stainless steel finish, they will be manufactured to Yamaha’s stringent standards in 22 and24” pitch, right- and left-hand rotation. Please note these particular propellers will only fit Yamaha’s line of V8 outboards, using a pressed-in style rubber hub only.
